The National Federation of Professional Trainers is thrilled to announce the home of our esteemed NFPT blog: PersonalTrainerToday.com!
If you’re an NFPT-certified personal trainer, hopefully this is not the first time you’re reading a published blog article! Chances are you’ve utilized NFPT’s totally FREE CEC resources, which include educational, research-backed articles published for all, on the NFPT website, including our vast NFPT blog that covers topics relevant to seasoned, new, and burgeoning certified personal trainers.
After reading our curated health and fitness-related articles, our trainers are encouraged to access our Fitness Flop or Fact quizzes based on the latest relevant article or Self-Test packets, a larger compilation of CEC-articles (those which are written on important topics and include peer-reviewed citations) on which trainers are tested for credits and available on their NFPT account.
Evolution of the NFPT Blog
The NFPT blog was started in 2009 and has come a very long way since! Our immense blog archive includes submissions that were published on a near-daily basis for years, boasting a collection of over 2000 articles! This accomplishment is unparalleled by our fitness-industry peers, who generally publish articles on a weekly to bi-weekly basis.
Because our blog has become a bit of a tour-de-force we have opted to relocate it to its very own home here at personaltrainertoday.com.
Personal Trainer Today (PTT) is actually not new to NFPT. From as early as 1990 to 2000, PTT was published in a hardcopy magazine and sent to our trainers by snail mail …oh the good ‘ol days! In the early 2000s, PTT went from being a physical magazine to a digital magazine with its own website, separate from NFPT, that acted as our ‘web-hub’ for continuing education.
But, by 2015, the decision was made to integrate the PTT website with the NFPT website, so we shut down the PTT website and put the hardcopy magazines in the filing cabinet as vintage relics of our history.
Now, we’re bringing it back! Our blog has grown so much that it needs a separate ‘web-hub’ once again, and so we resurrected PTT as the exclusive home of the NFPT blog! Welcome back, Personal Trainer Today!
If you’ve been following our blog offerings on social media thus far, not much will change for you. The shareable links will simply point you to the new website. But if you’ve got nfpt.com/blog bookmarked, you may replace it with PersonalTrainerToday.com.
